Sorry this took so long, but I've been rushed by a portfolio I need to finish before the end of the year. I sorta half-assed this image, so it shouldn't have taken so long, except for the fact that I got this "bright" idea in my head that I am an artist and decided to sketch in each individual strand of Jasa's hair...with a .5 mechanical pencil. Needless to say I stopped doing that after a while.


Also Jacen's hair is far too long. Oh and does anyone know whether is pronounced J-ah-sen (rhymes with Joclyn) or J-A-son (rhymes with Jason). I'm convinced it's the first way, but I like the second way better. >.<

Anyways this is another traditional piece with some touch ups with the color dodge tool in photoshop 6.0.

Be prepared for a journal soon on why I love Jacen Solo and I don't blame him for the incidents in Legacy of the Force.
I think I might be the only star wars fangirl who doesn't hate him. Though I do think that what they're doing to him is a waste of a good character (Which, coincidentally is exactly what Anderson said when they killed off Anakin Solo). Actually I think most of the Legacy series and the three books leading up to the Legacy series were several wastes of perfectly good characters, I mean Mara was wasted, Anakin was wasted, Jacen was wasted...etc.

Glad to hear it. Actually I wouldn't want to be Han's only daughter...on the other hand I would love to be Jacen's best friend (not lover or anything) or his apprentice. I am jealous of Ben Skywalker because of that.

Hello, nice job. You're right, his hair is a bit too long. Hey, you're not the only one here who likes Jacen, even though he has turned bad and yes it's pronounced like the name Jason. His Sith name, Darth Caedus is pronounced kai-des. I got that when I was listening to the audio CD of Inferno. I'm a Star Wars fangirl too. :) So there you have it.

Sweet! Thanks so much for the pronunciation help. I've only read the books, but maybe I should pick up the audio version so that I can get the rid pronunciations.

Oh and I was having too much fun with the hair...in other words Jacen forgot to get a haircut. o.o

A very nice version of Jacen/Caedus (with this expression, I could most definitely see this as being either DNT Jacen, or LOTF Caedus--sort of self-satisfied [not unjustly, mind] and a bit contemptuous...). Hair can be a royal pain, and no--drawing every strand is NOT necessary! Areas of light and dark tones can convey a lot of the textures of hair, with just a few sweeps of lines to show a few individual strands here and there. I like the long hair--his hair length isn't really addressed in his appearance descriptions, and I don't think he would have given the length much thought, really, as long as it was tidy...just my opinion! And I really wish they hadn't killed him off, too--I hated that he ended up falling (and really think he was maneuvered into it by Lumiya, though he went a long part of the path on his own...), and hoped for a turn at some point... Too bad--and I agree it was a waste of a great character.

You have tons of company in the fanworld, I guarantee! Actually, most of the post-NJO has been...strange and convoluted, IMHO... Maybe we can all just stop at "The Unifying Force" and let fan fiction take it from there... :nod: ;)

I'll drink to that, me and half of the rest of the Star Wars fanbase.


The really sad thing is that I've read fanfiction that have a better plot line (and in some cases are better written) than LOTF and DN trilogy...and that's saying a lot because Troy Denning, Aaron Allston, and Karen Traviss are in my top five list of favorite SW authors.
